His latest work ‘Arrow of Time (Unfinished Life)'(2016) is on view through September 25th.<\/p>\n

“Arrow of Time” is a term developed by British astronomer Arthur Stanley Eddington to describe the irreversibility of time.
\n“In this work, the digital light-emitting diode (LED) counters, or ‘gadgets’ as I call them,\u00a0count from 1 to 9, and represent the progressing time of a life. The counters never scroll to zero, as the number implies death: Instead, the light goes off for a moment. The counting then resumes in an endless cycle referring to Buddhist’s ‘Samsara’ (Metempsychosis), or eternal life. Through each counter gadget moving at a different speed, I portray the lives of individual people, with their differences in race, religion, language, skin colour, and culture.
\nIn Arrow of Time (Unfinished Life)<\/i> , I show these numbers as times of life showering down from the universe. I wish to express a vision of people of diverse backgrounds living together and interacting in this very moment, in the miraculous harmony that is life.”<\/p>\n
